Our English Road Trip: Staying In Bradford-On-Avon, Wiltshire

When trying to find a base for our English road trip, we originally wanted to stay in Bath. However, after finding a great AirBnB in Bradford-On-Avon, which was within our budget, that idea quickly changed! Bradford-On-Avon is a small town in Wiltshire and is only a twenty minute car journey (or a fifteen minute train ride) into Bath. It turned out to be an amazing place to stay as it was within easy reach of The Cotswolds as well.

Bradford-On-Avon is a beautiful, old-fashioned town with stunning buildings, and the river Avon running through its centre. It's a popular town for people visiting Bath but not wanting to stay directly in the city centre. There are plenty of pubs, restaurants and bars though - all in gorgeous, historic buildings that couldn't be anymore charming.

For two nights we stayed in a gorgeous AirBnB (you can find it here) on the high street which had everything we needed. It was a modern loft apartment that had an open-plan living area, dining table and kitchen. There were then stairs that lead up to the loft bedroom that overlooked the main living space. Although the entrance to the flat is on the high street, it was actually located at the back of the building, meaning that it was really quiet and brilliant for our mini getaway.

The apartment was really clean with beautiful decor. The bed was super comfortable with lovely, soft bedding and pillows, and the kitchen was fully equipped with modern appliances. The main selling point of this AirBnB though was its perfect location. It was really easy to find, and after checking in the owner Mark showed us where to find nearby, free parking. The train station is a five minute walk away, making it really easy for guests to visit Bath and even Bristol.

The apartment costs £55 a night plus cleaning fees, and so we paid a total of £126 for our two night stay. This was much more affordable than any of the hotels we originally looked at within Bath, and I actually really enjoyed staying in a different town. The AirBnB was amazing value for money, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who's planning on visiting the area!
